Autumn Writing Circle

When I practice yoga in a group setting at the studio, it feels completely different to me than when I practice alone.

What I’m doing is very much the same. I follow the instructor’s guidance, but ultimately I’m listening to my own body. I’m not worried about what people are doing around me, or trying to make my poses and flow look like theirs. I’m simply doing my practice.

But there’s something about having people around me doing their own dedicated thing in a safe space that creates a collective energy in the room that just feels different.

I heard something recently that said something like

“When we create a safe container, everyone in the room becomes a constellation”.

And since I heard that phrase I cannot stop thinking about it.

I truly believe that everyone we interact with can be a teacher for us. Even without the exchange of words.

A relaxed body on the mat beside mine.

A sigh from across the room.

Hell even when someone tooted the other day in class and reminded me that we’re all human and I don’t have to take my practice so seriously.

We impact one another.

And I’m so looking forward to sitting together this Friday (& those following) to let some stuff pour out onto the pages.

All are welcome.

xoxo
